Some lawns just can't be patched back to life. Weeds take over, bare spots spread, and no amount of fertilizer or overseeding fixes what's underneath - the soil itself. That was the situation here at this Lakeway property. The yard had gotten to the point where a fresh start was the only real solution.
Before a single piece of sod went down, we stripped everything out and started working the soil. You can see the mini skid steer doing the heavy lifting during the grading phase - getting the ground level and loose so the new sod has something solid to grab onto. That prep work is what separates a sod install that lasts from one that struggles in the first season.
Once the soil was graded and ready, we started laying sod piece by piece - cutting and fitting around the existing landscaping, trees, and rock beds. It's detail work. Every edge matters, especially on a property with this many curves and established landscape features already in place.
The finished front lawn is clean, uniform, and properly irrigated - the sprinklers are already running to get the new turf rooted in. The difference from where this yard started is significant. No more patchy grass or bare dirt pulling down the curb appeal of an otherwise well-maintained home.
This is what a proper sod installation looks like when the process is done right - not just dropping grass on top of a bad situation, but actually fixing what's underneath first. If your lawn is past the point of patching, this is exactly the kind of work we do.
