Overgrown Landscape Beds Turned Into Clean Xeriscape in One Day

Some landscape beds just stop working for you. The shrubs get overgrown, the weeds move in, and what was supposed to look nice ends up being a constant chore. That's exactly what we were dealing with here - beds packed with overgrown shrubs, dead grass clumped in cutouts, and patches that were more eyesore than anything else.

We cleared it all out and converted everything to xeriscape. River rock throughout the beds, boulders placed as natural focal points, and drip irrigation routed cleanly through the layout. The goal was simple - something that looks sharp and stays that way without constant attention.

The before and after here really tells the story. Overgrown, patchy, and unkempt on one side. Clean rock beds with natural stone accents and tidy edges on the other. Even the small cutout beds near the pool area and driveway got the same treatment - dead grass pulled, rock installed, done right.

This is what xeriscape landscaping is really about. It's not just rocks thrown in a bed. It's a thought-out layout that fits the property, handles drainage properly, and gives you a finished look that holds up. Less watering, less trimming, less time spent out there fighting the beds every week.
